Christmas Card

Well, if I know you and know where you live, you've probably already seen this, but here's our Christmas card for this year. I continued the tradition of including pictures of the two of us in various locations we've been throughout the year, along with a limerick. You can see last year's card here. I made this pretty quickly on Vistaprint, so the unequal size of the fonts bothers me, the cropping isn't great on the edges of some of the pictures, and I forgot to write "Merry Christmas" on the back. Oh well-that's what I get for procrastinating!

As you read this, Zack and I are hopefully in New Zealand, where we'll spend our Christmas holiday caravanning around the South Island for just over two weeks. I know I'll have tons of posts when I get back, but hopefully we'll be able to upload a few phone pictures to the blog while we're there. We have a pretty full-on itinerary planned...whitewater rafting, hiking, swimming with dolphins, mountain biking, bungy jumping, kayaking, jet-boating, canyoning, and skydiving! I'm SO excited!!! Mail From Molly

It's always exciting to get mail that isn't bills or junk, especially when you live abroad and don't get mail from "real" people very often at all. So imagine my delight when we got a card "from" our dog Molly the other day! To catch up any newer readers, our chocolate lab Molly is staying with my brother Justin, my sister-in-law Cindy, and their yellow lab Mascot while we're living in Australia. Here's the front of the card:

Ha! These dog cousins love each other-can you tell? Below is the inside of the card. Aunt Cindy may have helped Molly write this just a bit!

We miss Molly like crazy, but at least we know she's having fun in Michigan. And she really does like Mascot. A few months ago, when Mascot swallowed a rock (don't ask!) and had to have surgery, Molly threw up while Mascot was away. Molly only barfs if she's upset about something! The picture below shows the dog friends helping out in the kitchen... 

Molly Brown has her own Facebook page (you can become her friend!), and Justin and Cindy are great about posting pictures and videos and letting us see her on Skype. We miss you Molly-thanks for the card!

Our Christmas Card

Well, this card should look familiar to most of you by now. This is our Christmas card for 2011, and you should have already gotten it in the mail if I know you and have your address! Each year, I write a limerick and include pictures of places we've been. Obviously, this year includes mostly shots of places in Australia.

Anyway, the annoying thing about Shutterfly (and normally I love everything about Shutterfly) is that they don't have lots of options for cards with several pictures on them. This is one of the only ones where I could fit nine pictures, and it causes the font formatting to be squished and my limerick lines to not all fit where I wanted them. Oh well.

So we're back from our camping trip along the Great Ocean Road. It was awesome, and I hope to catch up on some pictures and blogging tomorrow before we leave for Tasmania on Friday. Did everyone have a great Christmas?
